My name is Goliath, and I am a beautiful Harliquin Great Dane and I will be 3yrs old on Nov 4th. I was diagnosed with Addison's Disease July 30, 2003 after I became very ill while I was living with my previous owners in the Philadelphia area.......they couldn't take care of me proper cause they work alot of long hours and had to leave me home alone alot, so they made the heart breaking decision to give me up for adoption by working with Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League. MAGDRL posted my picture and my profile on their website which is where my new mom saw it and and she just knew that we would be good for each other - my new mom has a alot of emptiness in her heart from loosing her precious boys Spike and Merlin and she told me all about them as we were driving to my new home on Saturday and about how much she loves them and misses them and about how much she is going to love me - I just know that I can fill that emptiness and bring her joy again.

Now I have a big fenced in yard to play in all day with Jill (the boy's mom) and I try to play with Sparky the cat, but he hides from me a lot. I get lotsa hugs and kisses from mom and I make her laugh alot too - she's never seen anyone drink straight from the kitchen faucet like I can ! We went to see my new Vet today and she was very nice. It was fun except for when they poked me with a needle and drew blood - but my blood panel was good and mom was real glad to see my good sodium and potassium numbers and a ratio of 32.7 - yippee!!

Right now I am on docp, and 20mg of prednisone/d (YIKES!!) but mom is going to put me on compounded florinef in the near future an she is weaning the prednisone down to a lower dose for now - good thing, it makes me restless and I drink and pee alot.

I gotta get off mom's computer now and go wake her up from her nap with a whole bunch of kisses - she loves it when I do that!! (She took a whole bunch of photos of me today and I think I wore her out :-)) I hope she is ready to play with me in the yard again - WHEEEEE it's soooo much fun.
